A hybrid Azure platform for an airline outgrowing its datacentre

A prominent European airline

The challenge

What the client was trying to solve

Datacentre capacity was projected to run out as the business grew, and any replacement had to fit existing processes and compliance standards.

The business problem

  1. 01

Existing datacentre capacity was projected to exceed its limits under rapid business growth.

  2. 02

A modern, scalable cloud platform was needed for future expansion.

  3. 03

It had to integrate seamlessly with existing technologies, business processes and compliance standards.

Branta's approach

How we worked back from the outcome

A hybrid Azure cloud with PaaS-based application frameworks and a layered security model, integrated with existing processes and compliance.

  1. Assessed the cloud infrastructure comprehensively.

  2. Designed and deployed a flexible Azure network with integrated PaaS components.

  3. Re-architected application frameworks and deployed them on Azure PaaS components, including Azure Files, SFTP, Blobs and SQL.

  4. Integrated existing technologies, business processes and compliance requirements into the Azure environment.

  5. Implemented a layered security model with firewalls, hybrid networks, bastion hosts and a DMZ.

Technology

  • Hybrid Azure Cloud
  • Azure PaaS
  • Azure Files
  • SFTP
  • Azure Blobs
  • Azure SQL
  • Firewalls
  • Bastion hosts
  • DMZ

The outcome

What the engagement delivered

  • The operational benefits of Azure PaaS.
  • Enhanced efficiency and reduced maintenance overhead.
  • Scalability for future applications.
  • Improved audit readiness and compliance.

What changed

The airline is no longer bounded by its datacentre. Applications run on Azure PaaS with less maintenance overhead and better audit readiness.
